Thoughts: On Snow Ride SIA 2012 – Skunk Ape C2 Horsepower
0As SIA was wrapping up, I figured the last board of the day I wanted to ride was the Skunk Ape C2 Horse Power edition. Yes, you read that right, Horsepower. Lib has two Skunk Ape models for 12/13, the standard C2, and the Horsepower edition. While I’m not ready to write-up a full review, until I spend more time on the Horsepower edition, I wanted to at least post some pics of the board with a few thoughts. I know Lib is still dialing in the flex and such for the horsepower, so various demo boards may ride softer, or firmer, depending on which one you get.
Local: SIA Day One Wrap-Up
0So today I ventured down to SIA to meetup with the industry peeps, and check out what’s coming down the pipe for this coming year. I had to work yesterday so didn’t make it out the opening day. I had a chance to swing by quite a few places today and grab some shots. I won’t write-up too much, but will post most of the pictures I took from today. Check em out, and let me know what you think.
Thoughts: What’s Rocker Got to Do With It?
0Unless, you have been hiding out, or are new to snowboarding, you have undoubtedly seen, heard, or witnessed something about the rocker revolution. Whether it’s Banana, C2, Rocker & Camber, Gull Wing, V Rocker, and more, rocker has been shouted from the heavens and it appears to be here to stay. So, I wanted to write up a few posts, or a series of articles if you will, discussing rocker, and it’s variants. Now, I don’t just want to describe the shape, and be done with it, but I really want to spend some time helping people understand why rocker technology by itself isn’t the answer, unless there is a complete alignment between the rocker technology and the sidecut used on a given board.
