Review: Remind Insoles – Make your feet happy!
The comfort of one’s feet is directly related to the happiness one has while making turns. I’ve used custom orthotics for years in some of my day to day shoes, and have been wanting to get some for my Vans boots. There are a few companies out there making insoles (quite a few really.) I luckily won a free pair of Remind insoles on a Facebook giveaway (totally honest,) so I’ve had a chance to use Remind Insoles in both shoes, and my boots, and figured it’s time to get some thoughts down about em.
First things first, when you have team riders like Travis Rice, Brian Igucchi, Mark Carter, among others, you know Remind is doing something right. Remind Insoles arrive in a nicely designed box, that is easy to get into. Remind insures that all details are covered on the box, whether it’s how the insoles work, or whether or not they are Dr. recommended, you can find all that information on a simplistically stylish box. The insoles themselves appear well though-out, comfortable, and look good. There are multiple colorways/designs available, and I found myself opting for the “Purple Cush” colorway, shown below, and the freebies sent over were the “Green Cush” colorway. Both insoles are the 3/16 Thickness (thicker model) since I’m a bigger guy and generally prefer more support. Remind also offers a thinner 1/16 thickness insole for tighter fitting shoes, boots etc.
The box picture is actually a second pair I purchased myself, after I fell in love with the first pair (freebie) which are a green pair that are currently in a pair of Nike 6.0 shoes. I’ve spent several weeks with the insoles in, and can’t say enough great things about them.
Jumping into the review, the first thing I noticed when using these insoles was the immediate cushion in the heel provided by the gel pack incorporated in the heel. The gel cushioning makes a huge difference in riding, hitting jumps, and even in everyday walking, allowing me to be on my feet for hours without serious foot fatigue or pain.
The second thing I noticed, was the awesome amount of arch support added by switching out my basic insoles with these Remind Insoles. Arch support is critically important, especially for us bigger riders, who tend to be taller, or weigh more. I found over time, that the arch support actually molded quite perfectly to the shape of my foot and arch area, making the insoles even more comfortable. Remind incorporates a “self forming foam” and gel into the arch to provide self forming arch support, that works splendidly
The thickness of the insole itself, even the front of the insole itself is thicker than stock insoles, although it’s not so thick it’s uncomfortable. The thickness makes for a nice comfort from the front of your foot (where it’s thinner), through-out the heel (where it’s thicker.) The rubberized foam also helps the insole “self form” to your foot, which is pretty nice, as the more you wear the insole, the better the fit and feel becomes with each foot. I honestly can’t say enough good things about these Remind Insoles. Super comfy and very supportive, even for us bigger riders out there. I’ve been putting these through the ringer, and they’ve held up really well, proving their also very durable. It’s interesting when you’ve been wearing shoes with the standard (factory provided) insoles, and you switch out to something such as a Remind Insole. You start to notice how your foot flexes a bit more, and how your walk feels, really paying attention to the overall comfort of your foot. If you’re looking for a nice pair of insoles, I highly suggest you head over to Remind Insoles, and check out their offering! I’ll be ordering up a few more pairs for the rest of my boots/shoes. On a final note, for those of you who care, these are also made in the US of A!
