Today, I slept through my alarm clock, and had to hurry to get out to the door to meet Travis.  We decided to hit up A-Basin today as our last resort riding day for this season.   We headed up to A-bay and got there around 9:30 a.m.   We both decided due to some meetings etc in the afternoon we’d just take a few runs.   Today was particularly fun because Travis was taking out the ’10-’11 Heritage X from Never Summer, and I was out riding the ’10-’11 Revolver again.     This was also Travis’s first day on Union Force bindings.

For the temperatures, and the weather, A-Basin is holding up incredibly well.   It was super slushy  as is any late spring/summer snowboarding, but they still had the top half off the mountain open, which made up for some of the conditions.    We ended up taking four runs from top to bottom, before calling it a day really.    The Revolver handled exactly as I’d expect it to handle in super heavy slush, and I’ll have a review coming up on that.   It was interesting to get feedback from Travis on his first time riding Never Summers R&C Tech.  He’s been rocking a camber board all season, minus a few days here and there on other reverse camber boards.   I was surprised at the number people out today shredding up A-Basin, and I imagine, since this is closing weekend, it’s going to be a madhouse this weekend.   It’s definitely nice to have a local resort here in Colorado that stays open as late as A-Basin does, allowing us to get in some chair lift riding time, even in June.     The day was overall incredibly fun.  I ended up leaving my iphone in the car, so no photos from today, but Travis was a butterin fool, and I just wanted to hit every jump I could heh.   The conditions were really good for playing on the boards, without worrying about too many edge catches etc.    Mad props go out to Never Summer, Travis, and A-Basin for the insanely fun last day of riding at A-Basin this season.  I’m sure I’ll still get in some hiking or something this summer.  Shay is trying to convince me to hit up Windells, which really is a possibility, so we’ll see.

Hope some of you are still out there riding where you can!
