Dew Tour Updates:
A lot of good things have graced us here locally in Colorado, and I'm lucky enough to live not too far from some of them. The Dew Tour is currently in Breckenridge CO, and I managed to stop by both yesterday and today for the sites, competitions, friends and fun.
Today I got up to Peak 8 around 11 a.m. I was super stoked to find parking semi-close in to the gondala, so I wouldn't have to wait for a bus. The crowd/fans were out in full force today, with lift lines being somewhat long, and the crowd up at the pipe being quite large. I'm still not sure how I feel about some of the sponsors of snowboarding these days, but I guess whatever excels the sport, and gets more people interested is mostly good right?
Below are some shots from today, as well as some shots of Lakota Sage a local rider (Never Summer, Verizon, Drop Gloves) hitting jumps in the terrain park at Breck.
Danny Davis throwing down
Scotty Lago showin what's up
Steve Fisher (look at the colors on that base!)
I have more photos to go through, including Zack Black, JJ Thomas and more. I'll post them as soon as I get them all downloaded from the camera, and processed out of RAW format into jpg. Congratulations goes out to Danny Davis for not only taking 1st place, but for setting a Dew Tour record for first run score of 96.50. Danny is one of those riders who always seems to have something hidden in his trick arsenal, and today shows he can throw down hard!
Never Summers Lakota Sage and myself hit up the terrain park at Breck yesterday to goof off. Lakota never ceases to amaze me with his riding. The nickname "Native Gorilla" definitely suits him!
This weekend has been incredibly fun, and as always it's sweet to get to see the pros doing what they do best. Free Mt. Dew, amazing riders, good company/friends, and awesome riding... nuff said!
