Local: Loveland Shreddin

Friday morning, I spent some time at Loveland with the 720 Team, and also riding the new 09-10 GNU Park Pickle with some Union Force DLX bindings.  The day was beautiful, and I meant to take my camera with me, but forgot it along with my gloves back at the flat.   I ended up stopping by Christys sports to pickup some 686 pipe gloves, because honeslty the day was warm enough I only needed something light.

The crew and myself originally planned on hitting up A-Basin, but honestly the life line was just a bit too much, so we diverted over to Loveland. The conditions were as best as one could wish for for preseason runs.  Groomers, and ice/slush in some areas.   The lines at Loveland were just about non-existant, and the runs were well groomed.   We ended up riding for several hours, before I had to bail to get some things done at the house.  It was awesome to get back on a board for some shredding.   I switched up my first day by riding a whole new setup.  I rode a 09-10 GNU Park Pickle, and Union Force DLX bindings.   While not the best idea, as I had a few bails while getting used to the asym heel edge and magna traction, I really found myself enjoying the pop and response of the pickle.   I'll have a review of the board coming up, along with more reviews, of NITRO etc.   I also took out a new Helly Hansen jacket, and the new 686 smarty OG cargos, both of which I fell in love with, and will have reviews on shortly.  I rode Flow The ONE boots, in size 12, which needed to be heat molded, to get the fit just right, but are amazing boots none the less.     All in all, I had a great day, and the gear was awesome.  I'l have more reviews, of days shredding, and gear I'm riding coming up.  If there's anything you want me to take out and write about, please do let me know.

  1. How about a Never Summer Legacy-R over the whole mountain? Park, steeps, pow, groomers, the works. Oh, and let me know how it does in an off-axis 9 from the big booter. Don't hurt yourself on that last one!

    • I have a review of the Legacy-R up already on the site, it's a solid board, and one of my daily riders. As for throwing an off axis-9, I'd probably use a Revolver-R instead, seeing as how the Legacy is a bit weighty, and the spin would be a bit gnarly.
