Outerwear Update

September 29th, 2009 by JT

It appears outerwear sizes this year have changed slightly for some companies.  I’ve noticed that 686 has eliminated the XXL sizing in most of their jackets with the exception of a few lines.  The economy and situation has been tough, so I’m guessing that orders for sizes in the XXL range were slim last season, and as such they’ve cut some patterns out of production to ease costs etc.  I’ll be adding Helly Hansen, and FourSquare to the outerwear sizing pages, as both companies are still rocking the larger sizes in most lines.    Look for some outerwear updates shortly as I get some reviews put together.

Absinthe Films Neverland Premier

September 26th, 2009 by JT

This evening I ventured out to the Neverland Premier from Absinthe Films.   Shay from shayboarder.com got me a ticket, for which I’m ever so thankful, because the show was sold out, and honestly, the video was insanely great!  I just want to touch briefly on the film and the premier.

Burton ICS?

September 16th, 2009 by JT

So today I had a discussion again, about the Burton ICS system. I’ve ridden the system previously, and don’t want to post a review about it yet, as I feel I need to ride the system again. It’s definitely an interesting system, and I do have to give Burton their dues for attempting to innovate in an area, where there’s definitely room for innovation. I’m curious if any of you have any thoughts on the ICS system? If so, I’d love to hear any feedback from you guys out there. I’ll ride them again this season and post a review using the Burton Custom, a board I consider an all around badass, consistent board.

Reviews:Update

September 13th, 2009 by JT

This season, I’ll be changing up a few things when doing board reviews. Last season I rode with Flow bindings during reviews, which worked out well. I decided this season that although I ride Flow bindings, I’ll be riding Union Force DLX bindings for all board reviews. On some boards I may review both Flow and Union bindings, or if any of you have a request for Flow bindings in reviews, I’ll try to get that taken care of. It seems as of late most of the bigger riders have strap bindings instead of Flow, so this change seems logical. I’ll be riding all of the NeverSummer boards again for a season follow-up review, and will throw the Unions into the mix this time to get both sides of the fence with the reviews. If any of you have any requests or such, hit me up, and I’ll see what I can get done for you.

Cheers!

Local: High Life Video Premier

September 12th, 2009 by JT

Just got home from meeting up with the crew at the High Life video premier here in Denver Co. It was awesome to meet up with everyone, grab a beer or two, and enjoy some righteous flicks. All in all the videos were solid, and have some insanely great parts. I’m not quite sure if the rap group who entertained us in between flicks was my scene, but some of the beats did get me moving. If you get a chance, check out Echodemic, and High Life, as both videos show some local talent!

Boards: Who’s who of wide boards

I’ve started compiling a list of wide boards listed by company and size. The list is no where near complete, but I’ll keep updating this and adding links. From this list I have, you should be able to see there are numerous choices in the wide/mid-wide market. Each company name is hyperlinked back to the companies website, making things a bit easier for you all.
